Aims and Opportunities

Promoting Early Learning and Child Development

Following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework, we work to enable the children in our setting.  Through encouragement and guidance, the children in our care access a range of play activities and resources that promote learning and development. We believe the inclusion of every child is of paramount importance and work hard to ensure each child is provided for. Through constant and consistent observation and and reflective practice we are able to meet the individual needs of each child.

Our Provision

Our aim is to ensure the children in our setting are happy, settled and well cared for, in order for them to achieve their full potential.  Our comprehensive range of activities enable the children to grow and develop.  We work towards ensuring that, by the time they start their primary school journey, our children are confidently equipped to continue their learning

Our activities and equipment include:.

  •  a well stocked book area to promote listening and literacy, whilst providing children with the facility to learn to love stories, rhymes and the written word.

  •  a range of role play toys and equipment.

  •  a well resourced, readily accessible, craft area.

  • messy play, water and sand.

  •  a large outside area with a range of bikes, scooters and balancing equipment to encourage active play.

  • a range of resource for early literacy and maths, including games, electronic whiteboards, mark making equipment and counting resources.

Outings

When possible, we like to go on little visits around the village and often utilise the park, which is accessed safely and directly from our building.  We also make visits to Kennall Vale Nature Reserve, the local shop and to various events throughout the the village.
